I started my career in component level electronics as a TV, VCR, stereo repairman certified by Pioneer and Phillips-Magnavox
in 1996. I soon discovered that I liked computers much more and started moving toward PC repair and sales to small companies
and home users. In 2002 I accepted a position with a company that has a few different restaurant franchises and over the years
moved up through the ranks from support technician to IT department head.
With 14 years of IT experience in a wide array of IT related technologies, I have always seen myself as a solutions provider.
I am able to walk into a wide array of different IT environments, and quickly learn the needs of the business and the solutions
available to make the business more profitable and run smoother.
Over the years I have done extensive work with POS (Point of Sale) systems including restaurant and retail. I have tackled large
networks including CDNs (Content Delivery Network), serving audio and video feeds from datacenters on 4 continents. I've also
managed Active Directory, MSSQL, MySQL, Exchange, and SharePoint servers. I've also tangled countless proprietary software
installations and odd configurations in a variety of different businesses and non-profit organizations. On the software development
side I have extensive experience with MSSQL, MySQL and PHP. I have somewhat more limited experience with Java. My specialty in the
past few years has been IT function automation. Utilizing, Java, Powershell, batch scripting, Microsoft SCVMM (SystemCenter Virtual
Machine Manager), SCOM (SystemCenter Operations Manager), SCCM (SystemCenter Configuration Manager), and Spriceworks to streamline
IT management functions and monitoring for maximum reliability and functionality being as "hands-off" as possible.
This website serves my own purpose of being a library of useful scripts, software, and resources. If others find what I have here
useful, that's ok too. I am accepting new clients in the Lincoln, NE area that fit into my schedule and expertise. If my services
and availability are not a good fit for your company, I can recommend a local provider.
